OCT 07 - Drilled VS Skin,
Began Deburring All VS Parts - 3 Hours
I had a special guest in the shop tonight. Mike "Mikey" Bouwman is a retired
fighter pilot and flies for American. We were in the same EAA builders class at
Oshkosh. He's got the bug and is considering a RV-8 project himself.
We started our work by clecoing the vertical stab skin on the skeleton and Mikey
began drilling the skin while I moved clecoes. This method is a real time saver
and we were able to drill the skin in about 25-30 minutes. After the skin was drilled,
we disassembled all of the VS parts and began edge finishing and deburring all of
the parts.

It's a regular cornucopia of airplane parts!

Mike hard at work in what he calls "Toad's Guest Help Worker Program". No one rides
for free!
He spent 3 hours in the shop tonight helping with deburring, edge finishing, and
dimpling. Thanks for the help Mike and you're welcome back at any time!
